ARTS: FUNDAMENTAL OF DRAWING
This is an introductory drawing course that is intended to help develop basic observational and perceptual drawing skills. The course teaches students a variety of concepts and approaches in drawing so that the student is able to demonstrate a range of abilities and versatility with technique. Such conceptual variety can be demonstrated through either the use of one or the use of several media.
Students will investigate the properties of line, value, shape, texture, and the representation of space, focusing on methods and techniques to represent the illusion of the three-dimensional world on a two dimensional surface. Additionally, drawing will be explored as a fundamental element of visual thinking, and as a language to communicate and express ideas.
